Description
Inspired by company paintings that documented the trades and occupations of Indians in the 18th and 19th centuries, Alix Fresson went to meet the people who continue to practice these timeless trades on the streets of Delhi.
From chai wallahs to street barbers, from flower garland makers to street food vendors or tuk-tuk drivers, they all willingly allowed her to capture a moment in their lives and share stories about their trade.
This little book presents a snapshot of these craftspeople and their trades; trades that survived for centuries and are part of the tradition and soul of Delhi.
